Skovorodynivka National Memorial Museum

The museum is dedicated to Hryhorii Skovoroda, one of Ukraine’s most influential philosophers, poets and thinkers of the 18th century.

On the night of 6 May 2022, the Museum was hit by a Russian missile strike. The historic building was severely damaged and partially destroyed by fire. The UCHF will support the recovery of Skovorodynivka as a place where the philosophy of Skovoroda can remain relevant to contemporary Ukraine.

Restoring the museum will create a space for learning, dialogue and community connection, while preserving a part of Ukraine’s intellectual identity. A functioning museum can also contribute to the economic revitalization of the community – a small village nearby Khrakiv, – by attracting visitors, supporting local services and creating opportunities for cultural tourism.
